Pat and Chris at AVALON Bed and Breakfast extend a warm and friendly welcome to all guests and will do everything to make
your stay in Cambridge as comfortable as possible.
Avalon is a small family run Silver award winning, 4 Star Visit Britain rated Bed and Breakfast operating from a very attractive and well maintained 1930s detached family house which although retaining many of its original features has been tastefully modernised.
We specialise in our breakfasts and are proud to have been awarded a Food Hygiene Star Award of 5 stars (excellent) by The Environmental Services.
Location
AVALON Bed and Breakfast is located ½ mile to the north of Cambridge City Centre with easy access from the major approach routes including the M11 and the A14 click on our Location Map and Directions. It is ideally situated for the Cambridge Science and Business Parks as well as the Westbrook centre. We have ample off road parking at the front of the house, so when you arrive just drive straight into a vacant parking space.
Cambridge has a very compact City Centre and the best way to get around is on foot or bicycle which can be hired in the City Centre. We always walk to the City Centre ourselves, normally taking a very pleasant scenic route along by the River Cam passing the College Boathouses, colourful river boats and the beautiful commons and greens. It normally takes us approximately 20 minutes to reach the centre.
We are fortunate to be on the Main Citi 1 Bus route which will take you straight into the City Centre, Cambridge Railway Station and onwards to Addenbrookes Hospital. This is one of the main services in Cambridge and runs every 10 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes thereafter (Monday to Saturday). The Sunday service is every 30 minutes during the day and evening.
